Orion SkyQuest Intelliscope are the most popular line of Dobsonian telescopes on the market today. The
Intelliscope series is so named because of the optional computerized object locator that guides the
user to thousands of celestial objects.
Newtonian reflector telescopes are an optical design featuring a mirror to focus light into a smaller
area. Most of the larger telescopes in use today utilize mirrors for economic reasons.
A Refractor is the optical design that most people associate with a telescope. Refractors utilize two
or more lenses to focus light into a smaller area. Orion telescopes and Binoculars offers both
achromatic and apochromatic refractors.
Maksutov-Cassegrain telescopes utilize both mirrors and a lens (meniscus lens) to focus light into a
smaller area. Maksutov-Cassegrains offer superior contrast image and are ideal for lunar and planetary
observation.
