Meade Series 5000 5-Element Plossl Eyepieces

Meade Series 5000 5-element eyepieces offer a generous 60° apparent field-of-view, compared with the 50° apparent field of most any Plossl eyepiece on the market today. Plossl eyepieces feature a symmetrical four-element design; therefore, these eyepieces are not really Plossls. We think Meade coined the name 5-element Plossl so that people would consider these eyepieces as an alternative to the standard Plossl design. Actually we think you should too, and we never hesitate to recommend these eyepieces. These popular eyepieces allow you to enjoy a wider field of view without paying a premium price. The additional eye relief offered by these eyepieces is worth the additional expense, especially at shorter focal lengths.
