Celestron offers several products for providing power
to their telescopes near the home or in the field. Some
Celestron telescopes, most notably the CPC Series, do
not include any form of power supply with the base
package.
Celestron Omni Series eyepieces are a 4-element
symmetrical Plössl design featuring blackened lens
edges and a multi-layer coating group on each lens
surface to maximize light transmission and contrast.
These are good quality starter eyepieces.
Eyepiece sets can be an attractive and economical
addition to many beginner telescopes, provided that the
focal lengths of the eyepieces are well matched to the
the telescope.
The Celestron X-Cel is an economical upgrade from the
basic Plossl eyepieces supplied with most telescopes.
Their greatest strength is found in the generous 20mm
eye relief - a feature commonly found on other eyepiece
lines costing several times more.
Planetary filters work by blocking a specific part of
the color spectrum, enhancing the remaining colors.
Neutral density filters are used to reduce the
brightness on objects such as the moon.
Celestron offers two go-to German equatorial telescope
mounts as stand alone products. The Advanced Series
mount is suitable for visual use whereas the CGE is
designed for serious astrophotography applications.
