TeleVue Optics
Tele Vue Optics has been thrilling customers for nearly
thirty years. From the introduction of the original Nagler
eyepiece in 1980, to the more recent introduction of the
Ethos eyepiece in 2007, Televue has continued to raise the
bar against which all others are judged. The new TeleVue
Ethos eyepiece has redefined the market for ultra wide field
eyepieces. The performance inherent in EVERY TeleVue eyepiece
is verified for you at f/4; quality assurance available
nowhere else.
TeleVue telescopes are among the world's finest fast focal
ratio apochromatic refractors. Unlike the majority of
consumer telescopes available today, these exquisite optical
instruments are produced right here in the USA.
TeleVue Eyepieces
The amazing TeleVue Ethos eyepiece offers an incredible
100 degree apparent field of view. Televue raises the
bar once again with the introduction of the Ethos
eyepiece.
TeleVue Panoptic eyepieces deliver tack-sharp images
across a generous 68 degree apparent field. The 19mm
and 24mm Panoptic eyepieces are extremely popular in
binoviewer applications.
The TeleVue Nagler eyepiece line represents the gold
standard of modern widefield eyepiece design. Nagler
eyepieces provide tack sharp images across an extremely
generous 82 degree apparent field.
TeleVue Radian eyepieces offer a 60 degree apparent
field of view and a comfortable 20mm of eye relief. All
TeleVue Radian eyepieces are compatible with TeleVue's
DiopTRX astigmatism correcting lens system.
Zoom eyepieces have been embraced by spotting scope
users for their quick power change convenience. The
ability to fine tune the exit pupil to obtain the best
overall object contrast is an overlooked advantage,
especially when using nebular filters.
TeleVue Plossl eyepieces are the cornerstone of
TeleVue's reputation. Since their introduction in 1980,
these Plössls have won praise and patents,
including a patent in Japan. Plössls still enjoy
the attention to detail as any TeleVue eyepiece.

Barlows are powerful tools for extending an eyepiece
collection at minimal cost, however; they also move the
exit pupil and extend eye relief. Powermates picks up
where the Barlow concept by keeping the exit pupil
where the eyepiece designer intended.
Paracorr is a universal corrector that tightens and
intensifies star images on all Newtonian telescopes
with f-ratios from f/3.5 to f/8. You no longer have to
constantly shift a Dobsonian to keep objects centered
for sharp viewing.
Your telescope’s focuser is used to compensate
for your near- or far-sightedness; DIOPTRX™
compensates for your astigmatism. These units attach
and lock onto the tops of over 20 long eye-relief Tele
Vue eyepieces to achieve the sharpest full-field
viewing possible.
Binoviewers provide a more natural viewing experience
by allowing you to observe with both eyes. A binoviewer
splits the light exiting from your telescope, directing
it to two separate eyepieces. Objects take on a 3-D
appearance when observed using a binoviewer.
This page includes 1-1/4" to 2" eyepiece adapters,
extension tubes, the TeleVue Eyepiece Carry Bag, and
more.
TeleVue nebular and planetary filters are 100% QC
tested. Bandmate™ filters yield bright, sharp and
contrasty images — even in the optically
sensitive position in front of the diagonal.
TeleVue Telescopes, Mounts, and Mount Accessories
High quality small apochromatic (APO) refractors by
TeleVue offer portability, versatility, wide field of
view, day/night viewing, and a range of magnifications
that large instruments simply cannot provide.
The Sky Tour Computer adds "brains" in the form of
digital setting circles to your Tele Vue mount. When
Sky Tour is added to Tele Vue mounts, the total system
is simple enough to encourage beginners, yet deep
enough for experts to maintain a lifetime of observing
enthusiasm.
TeleVue offers a selection of alt-azimuth telescope
mounts, from the lightweight Telepod to the robust
Gibraltar 5. These mounts combine a stable platform
with point and shoot simplicity for your TeleVue
telescope.
TeleVue star diagonal bodies are machined from solid
blocks of aluminum to assure permanent alignment of the
optics. The one piece body construction also means
heavy accessories can't force the diagonal body to
"unscrew" from the barrel as with other brands.
Miscellaneous accessories for TeleVue telescope listed
here include the Focusmate fine focus attachment.
Mounting rings for the TeleVue imaging system
telescopes are sold ala carte, and may be found here.
TeleVue offers unit power red dot reflex finders, a
solar finder, and finder mounting systems for use with
TeleVue refractors and other telescopes.
This page contains general photographic accessories,
including camera adapters focal reducers and other
items that may be used with any brand of telescope. See
the adjacent Imaging System Accessories page for
additional items specifically designed for use with
TeleVue telescopes.
These adapters are used to mount TeleVue telescopes to
a variety of third party telescope mounts. In most
cases a separate part is not needed in order to mount a
TeleVue telescope to a TeleVue mount.
These accessories are specifically designed to work
withe TeleVue Imaging System telescopes. Adapters,
extension tubes, focal reducers, focusing aids and
other items are listed here.
