Telrad Finders and Accessories
The Telrad finder is very easy to use example of a reflex sight. A reflex sight superimposes an image or reticle on top of the target. The Telrad finder presents three illuminated concentric rings spaced 1/2, 2, and 4 degrees apart against a natural view of the night sky. The Telrad finder may be the most useful accessory you can purchase for your telescope. Whether you have a goto telescope or not, the Telrad finder is worth it's weight in gold.
Always pointing the way to the next target, the Telrad has remained unchanged for years because it is simple and it works. Many deep sky observers use nothing else to help them find their targets. The Telrad does more than show you where your scope is pointed. With its reticle made up of three concentric rings of 1/2, 2, and 4 degrees it will help put the sky into perspective. Many atlases, such as Sky Atlas 2000, have a printed overlay of the Telrad reticle to help you navigate the sky.
