Telescope Accessories

Telescope accessories, including binoviewers, telescope cases, counterweight assemblies, collimation tools, dew heaters and dew shields, finders, focusers, GPS receivers, red flashlights, dovetail bars, guidescope rings, star diagonals, and more. Each of the categories below contain numerous products to make your telescope more enjoyable.

Binoviewers provide a more natural viewing experience by allowing you to observe with both eyes. A binoviewer splits the light exiting from your telescope, directing it to two separate identical eyepieces.
Telescope and accessory cases make it both safer and easier to transport and protect your telescope and other optical gear. Soft sided cases are suitable for use in the family car or as carry-on baggage. Hard cases are a better choice for shipping a telescope or checking it as baggage.
Optical collimation is essential to achieving top performance from your telescope. These collimation tools offered make the task of collimating your telescope faster, safer, and easier.
Most telescope systems are designed to balance with only minimal accessories attached. Counterweight systems are often needed when heavy accessories such as binoviewers, cameras or guide scopes are added.
Dew shields and dew heater systems are an essential telescope accessory for anyone operating a telescope where dew or frost regularly form. The formation of dew or frost on telescope optics can render them useless for the remainder of the night.
Dovetail bars are used to attach telescope optical tubes to mounts, or to attach accessories, such as camera mounts or guide scope rings, to the top of an optical tube.
Image erecting prisms are used for terrestrial application of astronomical telescopes, allowing them to present an upright image and a comfortable viewing angle.
Extension tubes are used to extend the back focus of a telescope when attaching a camera or autoguider, compensating for the missing path length of a diagonal.
Eyepiece adapters are used to adapt from a larger focuser or star diagonal format, typically 2 inches to a smaller eyepiece format, typically 1.25 inches.
Finders or finder scopes offer a wider field of view than a telescope, making it easier to locate an object. Both magnifying and unit power finders are available.
Red flashlights allow you to read in the dark without affecting your night vision. Laser pointers are used to point out the location of objects in the night sky.
The focuser is one part of a telescope that is commonly upgraded from factory stock equipment. Replacement focusers normally offer finer granularity of adjustment.
Connect your go-to telescope system or mount to a personal computer, or add a GPS receiver for providing accurate location and time information.
Guidescope rings are used to mount a small refractor on top of or beside a larger optical tube in a parallel orientation for autoguiding.
Optics Cleaning Kit
Optical cleaning kits provide everything needed for cleaning eyepieces and other relatively small optical surfaces.
Go-to telescopes and telescope mounts all require electrical power. We recommend external power supplies or rechargeable field batteries to meet these needs.
Star diagonals allow you to observe at an angle that is perpendicular to the mail telescope axis, which is more comfortable when viewing objects high in the sky.
Have you ever wonder what to do when you wanted to leave your telescope set up in one location for longer than a single night's observing session? Telegizmos scope covers are designed to protect your telescope from the elements.
A visual back connects the rear cell of a Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope to a star diagonal. Visual backs must be replaced when upgrading to 2-inch star diagonals.
Observing chairs and other telescope accessories that didn't neatly fit into another category have found their way here to the miscellaneous accessories page.
