Orion Newtonian Reflector Telescopes
Orion Telescopes offers a selection of Newtonian reflector telescopes on both alt azimuth and the more traditional German equatorial mounts. Newtonian reflectors are an optical design named for their inventor, Sir Isac Newton. Newtonian reflector telescopes use a mirror to focus light into a smaller area. Most of the larger telescopes in use today utilize mirrors for economic reasons. For organizational purposes this page contains only Newtonian telescopes with either altazimuth or German equatorual mounts. Dobsonian telescopes, which are a form on Newtonian reflector with a different type of mount, are listed elsewhere. See Orion Skyquest Classic, Orion Skyquest Intelliscope and Orion XTg Go To Dobsonians for more options from Orion Telescopes and Binoculars.
